Sacred grounds

I walk into the bathroom to pick up my comb and do a double take. The sink is surrounded by brownish looking powdery stuff which ends up being......coffee grounds!
I don't know where the inspiration came from, probably from another thirteen year old eager to grow a mustache I am thinking, but the delusional teenager in my house thinks applying coffee grounds to the area under his nose but above his mouth, and the chin will make him grow a moustache and a beard to boot!I told you he was delusional!!
This treatment has been tried a few times already and debunked by his mother with the warning  that it might actually delay things instead of speeding them up,but I think at thirteen, you tend to believe the pimply classmate with a hint of hair on his upper lip  more than you do the forty year old woman who gave birth to you-I know,I know,I am rounding off numbers instead of being being a stickler for accuracy- hence the continual efforts at hastening a process which in its eventuality is mind- bogglingly adamant about being on its own time.
We had a well child visit yesterday and apparently he is right on track as regards puberty, which actually did not require a medical degree to decipher, but hey I have official proof that he is approaching puberty. The other thing that came up during the hospital visit was the fact that thirteen year olds are notoriously forgetful on account of being in charge of saving the world, taming global warming, and finding alternative fuels....oh,sorry ,wrong on that one. They are forgetful because they have their head in the clouds and are scatterbrained and generally in la-la land for which I have living proof in the house. So I got a piece of advice from the doctor.I need to be patient and let it pass because this is typical and is not entirely his fault.Great! As it is,he thinks nothing is his fault and now this?
Does that account for someone forgetting where their scout handbook is and scouting around for it for a good part of an hour? Or that he has to practice the piano everyday like he has been for the last four years?Or do his Kumon everyday like he has been for the last seven? If it does, then it better pass pretty soon, else he is going to have this huge backlog of " things to do which I forgot to do  when I was thirteen" that it might take him thirteen more years to get them done!
