France!!!
Back after 8 weeks and still rapturous about the first 10 days!I mean the ones we spent in France.India was fun as usual but France was much anticipated and did not disappoint.
It was amazing. The most fulfilling tour that I have taken so far.
Despiteo all the warnings about the French being snobs,we came across none of those species at all.
Pretty much everyone we encountered were helpful, some going out of the way to make things easier for us.Even a florist in a remote village,Azay le Rideau, who spoke no English was so sweet and helped me pick out a potted plant without any hesitation and understood my broken French and hand signals!!

Paris-truly the city of dreams!Fast paced, yet laid back, modern yet antique-it was the perfect place to walk around in-and walk around we did-atleast 5 km a day-did I tell you we have wonderful children?atleast one non whiny one?We had rented an apartment in the 18th arrondissement (the photo below is of the living room)and the metro station at Abbessess was really close by -3 minutes walking time-so we took the train everywhere.

We arrived on a Tuesday in the afternoon and after a quick shower ,walked up Rue Lepic and had a light lunch(more about eating out in France later),took along walk in the neighborhood chock full of boulageries, patisseries, charcuteries and pharmacies and florists and......we ended up at the Moulin Rouge and guess what?A Subway-so it was a ham sandwich and cookies for the kids and we walked back to the apartment.

Moulin Rouge
We visited the Sacre Coeur church in the evening-truly awe inspiring-old,colossal and magnificent.
